I just bought a Gopro Hero last week. Was £94 off amazon. So far I'm loving it. I'm using it as a face cam, which I'm putting in the corner of my videos. I have a Drift Ghost S on the top of my helmet.
I'd say that the colour is more vibrant on the Gopro compared to the drift, and that's with my drift on the vivid setting.
Plus when it goes from one clip another (at around 16mins @ 720p 60fps) it doesn't lose anything, but when my drift hits 4gb and starts a new clip I lose about a second of video and audio, very annoying mid sentence.
I wouldn't recommend getting any cheap imitation mounts or brackets though. I got a Deyard bundle that had the head, chest and J-hook mount, and while the chest and head strap mounts are fine, the J-hook wobbles about, so I don't use that, just stick to the official one that came in the box.
So yeah, definitely recommend the Gopro Hero, but I have only owned it for less than a week so you may want to look online for some long term reviews.
