Channel Business-plan?

I'm the type of person that gets distracted way to easily and often forget what my original plans for something. I feel like I've kinda started to drift into a different direction with what I want to do with my channel, I've been thinking of uploading daily vlog type videos, or game reviews, and other stuff that just doesn't typically belong on a motovlog channel.

I've been thinking of writing up a motovlog channel plan, sort of like a business plan, to help keep me focused on what I want this channel to be about. Have you guys set something similar up like this? Or do you just basically say screw it, it's my channel I'll do what I want?

If you have written something up, what type of information did you put into it?

I just made a simple list of some goals and worked from that.

Now I just think stuff it and do whatever I want. I still try to keep the whole channel motorcycle related as much as possible though.

If you want to do other stuff just start another channel. They cost nothing after all.

I have a plan of when I will post certain videos but it is a loose one that is flexible, which in the colder months is a handy thing to be able to do. I've actually miss planed and have been posting videos too close together so may not be able to keep with my plan entirely over winter

I'd def go with @lupin advice and start a new channel for non bike stuff though. I've posted a few skydiving videos on my Motovlogs channel which get hardly any views so don't help the channel grow.

@burlyjack my hat's off to you if you pull it off. It sounds like you may be starting your own network!

An alternative could be doing different Playlists first to help you start separating then transition into separate channels.

As for channel plans, I have no goals, besides putting up some videos, and becoming globally famous - the usual. Little effort, maximum gain.
I only write down any interesting topics that come to mind. You know, every now and then, you are just about to fall asleep, and realize there is this great topic you would like to talk about at some point. And in the morning you can not remember it. So write it down, and when you feel like motovlogging, but have no current topic or news, just check the list, and see if something there has not been done yet.

Oh, oh! I just remembered - I have a goal not to put up videos about ranting how some car pulled in front of me. So if you ever see that kind of video from me, I'm either brainwashed or out of topics and ready for unsubscription.

I always considered the 'About' link of a channel to be the poster's channel plan or area of focus. I've tried to keep mine fairly open, but I'm still discovering what I'm interested in and then seeing what kind of views I get. I do have a Vimeo channel where I post my personal work that is and isn't directly related to riding, but has more to do with film making and animation.

I only have one plan.. Just post videos related to riding, bikes, motorcycle stuff.. That's the only plan I have and I make sure I stick to that.

I'm pretty much the same as @SighBored. Whilst I have used my channel for multiple differernt things in the past the end game for it is motorcyles. I have one old gamming video on there just for the reason that it caught me off gaurd. That has about 9ish views. I supposed at push you could include cars. But it all depends if what you are posting is the same as what your subs are into. If you had a lot of subs that where into bikes and cars than you'd be fine. But bikes and video games I doubt you'd get get much.

The daily vlogs could work if you spent to large majority of them on the bike, I guess.

I use my channel for anything I feel like doing, I write music and play table tennis and make videos about it. My primary message is the dragster RR moto vlogs, that's my main focus although, my biggest views are coming from my 8mm silent movie restorations..no sound, just vintage drag racing from our personal vault. It's almost a slap in the face...I am also working on my web sight to direct traffic to my youtube page... https://masterspin77.net/
