Can't get any shut eye as I just got the papers from Insurance letting me know that my payments are now $216 monthly and are no longer $129 monthly just because some scammer cut me off and brake checked me when I was in my truck. It was a year ago and now they are just rising it. I work min wage and only weekends as I am a full time student. I may have to sell my Motorcycle to be able to offered my truck. Fuck Insurance Companies and Scammers.

There was a moment when I rode Without insurance, I know risky but I'd never sell my bike, I also don't own a vehicle as I am not a fan. As for insurance, without it, I took the risk, that's just me. I never paid monthly payments, I always paid the whole year, I'm not made of money either, I'm a bartender, but don't sell the bike, that's ridiculous.

I do the whole year, too... but the payments are about $40-some a month. I think you're getting ripped off by your insurance company  !

Do you guys not have comparison websites? It can literally save hundreds of pounds here in the UK compared to sticking with your current insurer.

Pity you aren't in Australia - I chase the deals. My ZX6R costs me under $400 annually iirc.

I don't think Insurance Companies are out to screw you, Insurance is a shared risk. If lots of other people are claiming in your area, your premiums will still go up even if you have a perfect driving record.

recently had my premium go up, yearly bullshit
so i phoned around yesterday, got a cheaper quote than my current premium

Never ride without insurance... Even if its only what we call 3rd party (covers the other drivers damage if its my fault, but pays me shit)

Yep, the yearly cycle - their darn actuaries must be boring people. ;)

I can't say this enough, the amount of people who drive around uninsured is crazy. I did a stint in debt collection and a young person hitting a 30K car and spend the rest of their 20's-30's paying off the debt is a major impact on the rest of their life.

my insurance covers 3rd party body and property damage unlimited. and up to 30.000 $ for myself. (doesn t really matter, we have heath insurance in this country) costs me ess than 400$ a year.

theft isn t covered here at all. and full compensation would cost me over 1000$ a year on a 5000$ bike.

i don t understand the amount of payment the OP is talking about

As others have said - I would shop around for a better deal.
If you are for some reason bound by contract or something to this insurer, I would immediately file a complaint with your Ombudsman (I checked - they have them in Canada http://www.ombudsman.on.ca/Home.aspx ).
I have used the Ombudsman several times for similar issues with insurance & telecoms. Companies that wouldn't budge and were stubborn, gloating and greedy suddenly couldn't help me enough once they had heard from the Ombudsman. I even was given a special number to contact each company which was answered within seconds because they know it's the number the Ombudsman gives out - so no sitting on a call centre queue!

You're in college, you have to make sacrifices...I got rid of my bike when I went to school because I couldn't afford it either. Waited till I graduated and landed a decent pay then promptly got back into riding, commuted for years before I had to start driving a lot more for work.

Do not let something you get pleasure from (riding) turn into a negative...

A like on this sentence here ;) . On the other hand, if there is something you really love and are having trouble affording it... and you really want to keep it, then it's time to look at sacrifices elsewhere, if possible :o .....
