Business Cards And Merchandise

So I decided to get some business cards made to be able to hand out to help promote my channel. Im planning to carry some around with me when on the bike or even when out for a beer etc. as ive mentioned my channel to people before but they would have had to remember it and a card will help that.
Has anyone used cards before and did you notice it made a difference?
I also tested out getting a mug made for possible promo stuff or a comp etc (More for my amusement really lol.) Has anyone done merch like that?

Yeah Walterrific does it and it has worked well for him, It's something I'm planning on doing in due time, keep us posted how it's working!
 
I have actual business cards which contain mobile number and stuff, I don't give them out randomly, only if I attend any media type events, because of privacy.

Never thought of making these "check me out on YT" type of cards, since I usually hand out sticker instead.

Worth a shot and does not cost a lot.

I find it cheezy as foook, but you know what - It works :D

I think one of Walter's 3 weekly uploads is pretty much him out marketing himself by passing cards. Easy content too, cos people want to see themselves in a video (esp if the person's well known)
 
I do it myself. I have a general card that I give out at comic and anime cons, but that's mostly because i'm photographing and video-ing and want my subjects to see the photos and videos on my FB and YT and my website.

I might want to rope in my concept artist girlfriend to design T-shirts for me to sell though.
 
Ive thought about getting business cards for my local motorcycle forum I am part of so people can find me to go riding with but never considered it for my youtube channel.

Also, I don't think walterific or hunter honda got popular by handing out business cards, just saying :rolleyes:

A bit of traffic here and there, I kind of expected it tbh. Considering whenever I receive business cards myself, I too just look up the website on it and then chuck it in one corner.

But it's kind of like a necessary expense, without it, I wouldn't be able to share my videography portfolio to the cosplayers that posed for my shots.
 
I've thought about it, but kinda think its pressuring people into watching my stuff. Social media does a good enough job of that for me as it is.

Might be something to look at once I hit a decent sub count.
 
not expecting some crazy rush in views / subscribers I honestly just think that it sounds like fun & possibly chat some brief shit with them xD
 
I just carry around a load of my stickers with my YouTube channel and email address stamped on the back of them.

Business cards don't really suit the creative industry in my opinion so I do it a little differently.

So far it's got me 2 free items to review by giving them out to staff at bike shows.

Ive been using cards, wanted to do stickers to. Reason, not so much to get subscribers or view count but makes for hilarious content sometimes.
