Bike reviews & tesdrives.... are they vlogs?

So I did a couple of reviews (or a trio, even).

When they came out, I testdrove the honda cb500f and the cbr500r.
Mostly out of curiosity (I got the NC700x, and wanted to compare), and I'll have to admit, cause I knew it would be a couple of popular vids, being that there were at the time no semi-decent reviews of the little buggers online.

Thing is, even though these were kinda planned, I actually enjoyed a lot doing them. When I finished the 500f, I couldn't wait to do it to the CBR500R... And now I want to do more and more. (The cb500X, the ninja300, the ER6N and F, the FZ6.... and maybe, as one subber suggested, a liter supersport bike just to capture my reaction).

Are these "valid" vlogs, or am I "selling out"? I know they will be popular right off the bat, and the two vids did serve as a "sub catcher" - subs that I hope Ill manage to keep as active viewers by doing quality vids - but I did enjoy the reviews immensly. So much I'm thinkin of doing ANOTHER review of Lotsotkey (my NC700), more in the light of a longer-term review of the bike.
And a couple of reviews to my gear.

Keep doing them! Your reviews are good, much better than most other 'reviews' where there's loads of music and the bike isn't moving. Your reviews are great because you give your opinion rather than reading the 'fact sheet' like a lot of people do. And if you enjoy doing them, and they are popular, why stop? :)

Selling out? Poppycock.

Reviews are some of the best ways to get exposure, and people appreciate you giving an objective and informative view of something they might know very little about. It's your channel. Make the videos you want. If people don't like em' b/c they think you have some kind of agenda then they don't have to watch em'

Do what you like, if you like what you do it will always come across in the video and make for better viewing. As for selling out, that's just a term used by people in the same community who are jealous of someone else's success.

I would definitely consider a bike review to be a vlog. You're giving your opinion on a subject which is basically what all vlogs are.

Hell, it's more of a vlog than some "motovloggers" put up, riding around recording their own idiocy and not actually having a topic other than random sentences; usually cursing at other road-users.

If your topic of choice happens to be a very popular subject, then all the better for you and your channel. It's not "selling out", in my opinion.

Well.... For some odd reason, people seem to like my semi-rambling, and very unskilled reviews. Getting youtube comments saying this is the best review on youtube is just... weird. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing.

I guess Ill keep doin' them. Gonna try and find some testdrives of some machines I'm curious about - the ninja300, the kawasakis ER6(F or N), and the gorgeous Yamaha XJ6 (f and n).
Problem is, getting portuguese dealerships to have machines available to testdrive sometimes is like trying to find a virgin 18-year-old... I'm sure there are some, but WHERE?

No supersports for me - with only 6 months on the clock I'm scared to pick up a 12k euro supersport bike. :D

You sold out mate, please close your YouTube account and point all future subscribers to me.

Thanks,

ham
