Which do you think would be better for motovlogging? I would think you would want the constant 60 fps, though it can also do 1080p at 120 fps. Which do you think would be best?

I'm just sticking to 1080p for uploading purposes, I don't have the best internet, also you will need to consider if you're computer can handle editing 4K video as well

i have really good internet, and it could "probably" handle light 4 k editing, but ill probably go with the 2.7k for the 60 fps, feel like thats gonna be the best option for balance

Also you won't really need 120fps unless you want to do some really slow motion shots, I'd recommend keeping it around 60fps for normal vlogs because your file will be really large at 120fps even for just a few minute long video

Do you have any scenery or anything that's worth looking at in 4K?

If not then it's kinda wasted. You also need to look at your analytics and see how most people are viewing your content. If most are watching on something that won't do 4K then it's also wasted.

I was debating on that as well, 2.7k 60 or 1080p60. 4K runs poorly on many machines and there are not that many people with 4k displays (unless you don't count the TV's). Options above 1080p doesn't seem to show on my mobile as well. I have one video shot in 2.7k and one in 1080p so far and from editing point I can tel you this. The former took me 3 times as long to export and that is without much effects. You can check them out and decide on your own. Personally I'd suggest you stick with 1080p60 for now. You can always go up in resolution if 4k becomes more widely spread.

2.7K 60fps would be a great way to circumvent YouTube's abysmal datarate caps.

Watching a video on Youtube at 4K on a 1080p monitor basically looks like 1080p should look like.

Hope I'm not necro-ing this thread too hard, but 1080p@60 should be fine for most things. Personally, the only time I'd go over 1080p in recording is if I wanted to increase the quality of post-production effects, like zooming or cropping (to reframe a shot). One of the best arguments I've heard for this is in a video from LinusTechTips where they had Niko from Corridor Digital explain why they chose to use the Red Weapon 8k camera for their shots. (a $60,000 USD camera, mind you. That's not even counting first party accessories that will run you tens of thousands of dollars extra.)

This, though, entirely depends on what type of content you want to produce. If you are doing a vlog and you want to include a scenic slowmo shot of the landscape as you drive by or are stopped, then having a higher resolution shot at a higher framerate would benefit you. On the other hand, if you're just going to be doing normal vlogs, you don't need to really care about going over 1080@60, there's just not enough real merit for it.

A motorcycle, silly.
I think im going to stick to 1080@60 going forwards. I've been experimenting with the quality and rendering settings for my Sunny Bear vlogs and fair to say nothing renders as well as 1080 for youtube. Especially when you get the bitrate settings right.
