2021 Hayabusa? Yes Please!

nophix

Where's my coffee?
I've owned and toured on a few 1st and 2nd gen Hayabusas. They're amazing sport-touring rigs. The 2021 adds so much tech, including CRUISE CONTROL!! Like, legit electronic cruise, not a throttle lock. I'm STOKED!!!

What does everyone else think? Is anyone looking to snag one up?

The Busa has never really been on my radar, but it can't be denied it is an incredible bike and quite an icon. I love cruise control on bikes, I have it on my Moto Guzzi, really awesome on longer trips or going through those 50mph average speed cameras! :-)

I've never been overly sold on the look of the Hayabusa but after seeing the 44teeth review on the new one I recon I could be tempted (in a parallel universe where money was no object). Would be interesting to see a comparison Vlog old vs new Hayabusa.......?

I've been trying to find a decent deal on a 2nd gen that's not molested to hell or beat to oblivion. It's a needle in a haystack. If I can, I'm likely buying this one next year, so I could actually do that.

I’d be very interested to see that TBF. Bet there’s a few others too!

I'd love a Gen 3 busa but there's no way I can afford one, so that (as they say) is that.

Cruise control - yes please.

Apparently I could get a vacuum operated cruise control, fitted to my GSX1400, for.. $1,000!

Yeah, no.

I don't ride sport bikes, I'm more of a touring bike kind of guy. I have a friend who has an older Hayabusa though and he is looking to get the new one later this year, and he is VERY excited about it!

Cruise control on a Busa? I wonder what the seating position is like now. I felt the older Busas had a pretty raked seating position already, having cruise control on a race/performance oriented bike would be strange, not quite sure how that would come into practical use on that bike. But still cool to see the Busa come back, it's a mega fast bike for sure.

The seating position is unlikely to be changed much - it is built for going FAST after all.

Personally I'd like to see them make a naked version based on the 'busa' platform. Something similar in philosophy to the old B-King (but less ugly please) .

Seating position was fantastic. The old 1st and 2nd gen Busa's were the secret sauce of the sport-touring world. A few of us adapted the old Audiovox cruise units to ours, and it was awesome. Throw on the Corbin Beetle Bags and you had an ST monster.

Interesting, I'll have to check one of them out again, I sat on a buddies Busa a long time ago maybe around 2005 time frame, and I just remember it seeming aggressive. My 2004 CBR1000RR is actually quite friendly to ride, even though it is a sport bike, while my 2005 RC51 has a much more raked riding position and not as comfortable to ride, but I sure like looking at it. :-) And it is great in corners.

I don't know why but the idea of cruise control on a bike scares me, HAHA. Maybe because I'm not a highway rider.

Playing catch up thanks to work... lol!
I used to think the same thing, but after using it, and being the long distance type, it's amazing. I used throttle locks, but you always have to mess with them, and they can e a pain to deactivate. True electronic cruise is just so simple and easy, and disengages with the touch of the brake.

I love cruise control! It lets me ride, drink coffee, and smoke a cigar, all at once! Or, if my 360 cam goes flying because I didn't have its 4ft selfie stick securely mounted... cruise control lets me fiddle with it while on the move LOL.

All of which is either in published vids on my channel, or upcoming vids :D That's the kind of blooper I leave in, as if I expected it, even though I was panicking because my 360 cam was bouncing off the ground!
