2009 F800r Swingarm Cap Removal

Hi guys and girls,

Would anyone know how to remove the swingarm caps from a 2009 F800R? I bought an abba stand and for the life of me cannot get the cap off. I was told a flat head would be sufficient but dont want to scratch anything.

Thanks man, its a really awkward space to get into as the foot pegs prevent easy access. I may have to bite the bullet and do something drastic.

Seems like a pain, but normally dirt etc builds up in the spacing and almost seizes them in

i would try to get a small suction cup for putting in windows and pull it out that way.

Hahaha, not sure if serious but i managed to do it today; i think i just needed to be braver. Shoved in a small thing flat head covered in masking towel and used a towel to ensure nothing got scratched. POP! Out it came.

Glad you got it off! Maybe put some vegetable oil around where the cap goes so it's easier to get off. (WD40 etc gets the dirt stuck in)

Excellent advice because i was wondering what to use. And all my KY has been depleted...

Mmm, on yours do you bolt up the two sides around the bike or is it fixed and slided up the bike?
