I will tell you that the yamaha will not hold a lone as well as the other two. It tends to be more concerned with doing wheelies. Triumph nicer looking as well

ahh, that makes sense... the handling might hopefully be improved by the fancy suspension on the SP so def worth keeping on the list for now! :)

The Trumpet does look to be a better bike on paper, although is quite a lot more money than the KTM 790
The 790 won't be available anytime soon right? Also the Street is probably closer priced to a Z900, in fact you can look at a Z900 it's good for the shorties. But the suspension can feel a little soft though.

I'd still say go with the Streeple as long as they have good after sales service for claims/parts.. In my country I'm told the Triumph dealership is quite f-ed up and better to avoid.. Not because of the bike, but because of the support.

I've been offered the first bike from my local dealers for the 790 Duke (they are £8,500). I'd be looking at the Street Triple RS if I went Triumph (which is £10,100). Fortunately in the UK we have a few dealerships and I have two local to me with a friend who works in one of them so I'd not be too concerned about dealer support.

I'm also not in a rush to buy as it is winter in the UK now, would wait until Spring which would allow me to sell my Ducati hopefully too. :)

I haven't ridden one or sat on one yet but the 765 RS looks like you couldn't go wrong. I've sat on the 675's and they do seem to have more of a upright position than most other sport bikes I've sat on. I'd imagine the 765 would have the same or similar seat position.

Don't know much about that bike.

If you are looking at other bikes, check out the kawasaki z900.

I just got one and its a great bike. Seat sits low and the bike almost makes you sit in the bike instead of on top of it with that naked bike upright position . I'm 6ft tall and plant my feet with my knees bent.

Soz, should have said, I don't want a big bike, looking at between 600-900cc and not a tourer.... I want to be able to munch miles, but I travel light so don't need bags! :D

The MT-10 was on my radar for a while though, I tried taking a demo on one a year ago and every demo bike at all the dealers around me were broken which put me off a bit (it was crash damage not due to unreliability) but it is still quite a big bike.

Am not really a fan of lowering bikes either as it affects the weight distribution, the steering geometry and relative wheelbase which all reduce how well it would handle.

Triples are a great road engine, inline 4s are good track engines so I like where you are thinking kinda, maybe I should have a look at the MT-09? :)
Have you consider the Suzuki 750 GSX?
Has a low and comfortable seat, Naked style like the street triple
