What's the best phone cradle/mount? Ideally for a iPhone 5s, but would like for it to be adjustable (Got a Gorilla hardcase) I bought a mountable bag, but the mounts are for a bicycle although described for motorcycles..

Ram Mount X-Grip is the most common phone mount.

I use one with the wexel webgrip addon and it works great. 100+mph and the phone is held solid

I only know of the RAM X-Grip thingy, you can source for phone mounts that come with a case/cover that is waterproof if you are worried about it getting wet. Though having such a case will make the phone run hotter (lack of air flow) especially if you have the GPS on.

I made one for my bike, cost next to nothing... I had a very tight/secure case, and a 90 degree metal bracket. I then purchased some Sugru and used it to stick the case to the bracket. When dry it was solid and I could bolt it onto my yolk.

I went with Techmount and love it. I have the phone, GoPro, coffee cup, and GPS mounts and have never had any problems at any speed. Ram is a great product but IMO, the Techmount looked cleaner and better on my sportbike. Their waterproof cases work great too. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand.

I just ordered the RAM mount. People seam to like it so I decided to give it a go. My phone is an S7 (water resistant) in a defender otterbox. I figure my phone should be in good shape unless I find the bottom of a lake or drop off a cliff, either one is entirely possible...:D

I dig my Ram X-Grip. I've also heard great things about the Rokform mounts/cases but they don't make one for my phone.

I've got the RAM Mounts X-Grip, and the 1" ball mount that attaches to the clutch master cylinder.

It's a bit high and pokes out of my windscreen, but I can always remove it quickly, and it's super useful for knowing my camera is recording (and killing the battery in 20 minutes).

Old thread but couldn't help but plug my Quadlock mount! Your phone snaps right into place and is secure. I use it on my motorcycle and bicycle and love it. It's a bit of an up-front investment as you also need a special case, but I like the case and it also comes with a rain poncho that is useful to have on hand (it's always in my bag; and is useful in Colorado's variable weather).

Was going to make a post about this... Here's my experience with QuadLock:

I saw the ads all over the place and finally gave into get a set for my iPhone 8 at the time. The mount worked great but the case was a little thin for my tastes plus put the phone on a table somewhere, like at a meeting, the case wasn't flush/flat.. but that was fixed just by switching cases after riding. That went fine as it was...

Then, I got a new iPhone 11 Pro in December 2019 and ordered the QuadLock case for it in January. In February, after a long ride, I found that the camera stabilization was destroyed. Took the phone to Apple and they confirmed that the vibrations likely killed it. Using the RAM X-Grip mount, the issue hasn't repeated on the same lengthy (and somewhat bumpy) ride. The stiff nature of the QuadLock is maybe too stiff for some types of devices. The iPhone 8 never had an issue, so there's that.

I've heard of the issues with iPhones on some bike mounts @STR-Rider . I also heard that Apple were working on a fix.
I love my Quadlock too @humes

I had planned to modify the QuadLock mount by adding some rubber insulation to dampen the vibration just about the same as what the X-Grip does with its rubber grips. The phone still is under warranty until December, so I may give it a go and see how it goes. I do love the clean mounting of the QuadLock.

One other thing, the iPhone 11 case for QuadLock is also a challenge to get on and off the phone. It's a very snug fit!

I've got the cheapest phone holder I could find, Not on purpose, just how it happened. Called Ultimate Addons

I was initially worried about my phone falling out, but its super solid, highly recommend if you find them.

I'd be worried if it wasn't a pretty tight fit! :D
