How To Wheelie A Small-engined Bike?

Make sure to be geared up from head to toe so when you inevitably fall it hurts less.

Drive off slowly, gear 2, clutch in, rev it and dump the clutch, and keep the throttle open. If you wanna lower the bike a bit without losing the wheelie use your rear brake.

Firstly I'd recommend getting used to the feeling of full throttle, start in 2nd. Go slowly and then open the throttle fully, dont snap it open, but open it quickly. This will let you get used to that feeling.

To actually wheelie, same speed in 2nd, keep a consistent throttle position. Pull the clutch in but only so that it starts to slip, give it some revs and release the clutch. This should feel smooth and if done right should pop the front wheel up. Try more throttle opening and more clutch slip if its just not coming up.

Remember to cover the rear brake, this is deeply important, anybody can pull a wheelie, controlling it is hard.

Whatever you do, don't get frustrated at your progress. Rather take it slowly and build up your confidence and wheelie height.

Great idea, dirt bikes are relatively cheap to fix if you crash it. Great friend you have!!!

Agreed, I dont think 2nd has the power to pop the front wheel up. But rather start in 2nd, then go to 1st.

Also agreed on the grass, much softer on your skin than tarmac.
