I'm thinking of switching from the Sena Bluetooth backpack to a wired mic into my gopro, but I don't always shoot video when I ride. I was thinking of saving up for a second helmet to set up specifically for motovlogging. Anyone rocking a helmet specifically for vlogging?

I also prefer to use a modular helmet, but I'd like to move to a chin mounted camera so I might go with a full face helmet for the vlogging helmet. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but the idea has been kicking around in my head.

Even if you dont vlog its always good to have a spare helmet mate. I have a helmet preference regardless, but all my helmets have camera mounts just incase.

Yes, I have specific helmets setup just for motovlogging, or really just for helmet camera recording. In these helmets I've placed the microphone attachments securely and just need to swap only the camera unit. Makes it easier to switch helmets. I have two for this purpose (helmet mount/motovlog) because the AGV K3 fits a bit loose and heavy, not so comfortable for fast riding, so I have the Shoei XR1100 for when I want to go fast/long distance. I am planning to get a Shark Race R Pro to replace the K3 though, will custom decals. We'll see how it goes.

When I'm not planning to do any helmet camera shooting or motovlogging then I generally pick any one of the other helmets I have that do not have any type of mount on them.

If you use open face helmet, you can still have "chin mount" style but stuck on the lower part of your visor, sure it looks a bit off but it's possible to do.

Cool! Thanks! I'm still new to riding so I only have the one helmet at the moment, but I think I will buy another one and set it up for vlogging. If nothing else I'll have a spare if I need it.

I have two helmets. A modular and a reg full face. Both have mics in them and camera mounts so I can just pop the camera on either helmet depending on which I want to wear.

Modular ones can be a PITA for mounting a cam unless you want it on top. On my lazer as my flip opens quite far round I had to mount the canera a bit weird. Not too bad (sort of) if you have a GoPro, but of you've got a Drift, real pain.

Yeah my modular flips up to the point where top mounting is not possible. I mounted my GoPro on the right side as my Sena is mounted on the left.

I think my next helmet will be full face helmet that I can fit my glasses in. Then I will do a hardwired mic and chin mounted GoPro.

That's good idea mate
I have three helmets, 1 half face and two full face ( the first full face is white helmet and second is black ). Both full face helmet have side mount ( except half face helmet) and I divide each purpose of my helmet.

When i will riding in a short distance like escort my sister to school, i will use my half helmet because it is easier and I able to smoke while driving. And when i wanna motovlogging. I will use white full face on day light and black full face at night.
with this way I can protect all of my helmet from scratches

And also i don't put my mic on helmet but on my body protector/body armor, i do that because in this case my camera can't support external mic

My full face helmet (pictured on the left) is the one I use 99% of the time when riding. I have an open face one but I don't have a camera mounted any more and an external mic would be hard to use

I have a moto vlogging helmet and a cassual ride helmet when i want to just go out for a nice ride. That one, i use my gopro session, just for my safety.

I own a single helmet, and as such it's the only helmet. I am still figuring out mic placement... It'll probably take a few tries to get it right. And, I'll probably have to buy another lapel mic as the one I got now is more than a decade old and sound quality is not too awesome.

lot of different things
I have a few different helmets since I do a few different things, they are all setup on their own, mounts e/t/c. I used to use a separate helmet for snowmobiling as well but found my Fly F2 was warm enough to run through the winter as well. Once I get the KTM built up I'll be getting a DS helmet for that. Just makes it seamless to just toss the cam on and go knowing mics/mounts e/t/c are all good.

I have two, always good to have spare, one is pretty cheap so I can lock it to my bike if I go to the movies or restaurant or something.

I wear a helmet to save my life. If I didn't want to wear it I would just use the GoPro chesty and hat mount.

I had a normal helmet, that i started vlogging with,
I realised that it was a little too cramped in the mouth area (Vlogs showed it too)

so i bought a helmet with vloggin in mind. Now i always use the new dual sport helmet. I prefer to record everytime i ride, incase something happens.
