For a good editing, I spend between 15 and 20 hours minimum for 2 at 3 min.

The short answer: I take as long as I have to. Longer answer: it depends.

I usually do one pass to edit out dull silence and add intro and exit bits, another pass to edit for content, another pass to edit for edited content, then another pass where I add any silly shit.

1-2 hours easily on a 10 minute video.

Wow RogueMogul you are the boss~!

I usually take about an average of 2 hours for each video. My first few videos I tend to get carried away and take even longer than that. Heh. Now I time myself to be 'efficient'

My 2 hours is inclusive of reviewing the videos for the first time, uploading to my computing, slicing, adding memes, processing the vid (Adobe Premiere takes soo damn long), reviewing the final video, uploading unto Youtube, and reviewing it again.

So just editing might be less than that. Also I cant seem to get clean 'one continuous take' like you guys, so I have alot of editing to do.

Still learning =)

Having previously said one of my 6 minutes vlogs only takes 10 mins to edit, that is when there is pretty much no editing. My last 6 minutes vlog took and hour and a half!

Around 30-minutes I would estimate. I'm all about jump cuts...well because basically that is all you can do with windows movie maker. :D

My last ride I went out for 3 hours took me 5+ hours to edit it down to two 7 min videos. Which reminds me I still have some editing to do on the second video.
Part of it was trying to find which clips I was going to use in which videos and putting together a concept for each video.
I also enjoy editing so it's fine with me.

I voted 30-60, but it's actually a lot more time than that depending on whether or not I'm making a new intro track from scratch, making a whole new intro (like tonight), using multiple views, cutting down hours of footage, etc. I think it generally takes me a couple hours per video, but I'm setting my quality bar pretty high.

I just spent 13 hours editing yesterday lol.. i was experimenting with 2 cameras, I also toured a mental hospital and did a tank bag and bike review, but i havent even edited the bike review yet! lol

The dual camera thing is cool but extremely time consuming to edit, it's like 300% harder to edit than just single camera footage. Generally though it depends what I'm talking about how much editing I do, I'm still new so i say a bunch of dumb sh*t at times, I try to edit as much of that out as possible.

When i first started graphic design I would take a crap snapshot of someone and spend hours and hours processing it until it looked cool (album covers for example). As years went by i would eventually spend time taking a good well composed interesting photograph to start with, then you might only need a single hour to edit it into something impressive and professional looking. Point is when i start getting better at getting usable footage i assume my editing time will come down quite a bit. Until then I'll make it happen in the cutting room.

I must say though i kind of enjoy editing, I come from music and design background so it's just another creative outlet pretty much.

My last 7 minute video only took about 15 minutes to edit. I knew the parts I wanted to cut (17 min original) and threw in some text and transitions. I'm getting better at content while riding so the editing time is getting to be less, until I throw in new techniques that I think are cool.

3-5 hours on a vid. there are some that took way longer tho

longest one i did was a short vid that came out of 3+hour footage.

I like to edit over several weeks tho.

- I record something
- let it lie
- watch it once in adobe and just cut the bad bits away (lights, stops, no talking parts etc)
- let it lie for a few days again
- do the final editing that usually takes 2-3 hours

this way i feel i have a better eye for each vid and don t feel pressured to finish or get it done

He only became project director within the last few years. The hours are probably insane, but the pay is even crazier. I know a few guys who've gotten 100k bonuses for working on the big AAA shooters. I'd love to have that kind of money, but now that I've got a son, I don't know that I'd want to trade my quality of life and free time for it. Heard some horror stories about 80+ hour weeks lasting months on end. Worst I've done is 12 hr days 6 days a week for a couple months straight.

Back on-topic, I could edit a vlog in like 10 minutes with Sony if I just did intro/outro and cut out dead space.
