Not Every One Has A Oval Head!

So I have an Icon Armada helmet, that I admittedly bought because it looks awesome! Now for the first 1.5 hours its fine and feels great. But after that im in so much pain as it squeezes the top sides of my head. Enough that I have to pull over several times. Now, I dont have $500 bucks to spend but at the same time all I find are the cheap $50 helmets that are more round. I found a Fulmer n40 which fit good, again it seems like a cheap helmet. I want good protection without having to suffer in agony or sell my kidney for.

Anyone else have this issue? Would love some advice!

Do Icon do replacement internals? Lazer have changeable internals both head and cheek.

I just sent them (Icon) an email yesterday explaining the situation. Lets see what they come back with.

Each manufactuer make different shell shapes, and its abit gutting if you cant get a change of internals ot help fix it.

The internal padding doesn't really change the shape of the shell, at least for me it never seems to make any difference.

Yeh thats mostly true, but some companys dont have many shell sizes soo its packed out more with the internal padding so a change in foam could be all thats needed

I bought my AGV K3 cause I loved the look of it, and felt pretty good when I tried it on before buying it....luckily it's been a great fit so I'll probably stick with AGV for my next helmet too

I found that i have trouble finding helmets here in Japan. because as you said the foam is different. And arai and shoei for example do not sell the european foam for their helmets in japan. drives me nuts.

so either order from abroad or go with a cutting knife.

Only way to do it is go to a store and try on lots of lids, see what works. Looks are all well and good, but if it don't fit...

I hate this about helmets. There are only 3 brands that fit me. Granted my head seems be shaped like E.T head according to a lott of manufacturers

When you are in a store, find a lid that you like in the right size, put it on and wear it for at least 10 mins, any decent shop will let you do this. Only takes 5-10 mins to tell if a helmet is going to be a pain.

I was having a problem trying to settle with a large icon, and instead I got a medium Bell Vortex. The anti fog is legit. and it has chin, brow and top vents for 179. Also you can use the same shields from the 500 dollar helmets. Not a bad helmet for the price. Just my 2cents.
