So, does anyone have any tips on using youtubes analytics? I try and pay attention to the Audience retention. I noticed that my into was really long and I was loosing interesting during it so I made a new one and I seen a difference. I see that most people don't watch the entire video and im not sure if that's just me or something everyone sees. Now im trying to figure out what I can do to up that.

So how do you guys view\use youtube analytics?
 
Depends how mych they watch, if I've got a few to get through i will skip outros and load another vid, if im miles behind in watching vids if it doesn't grip me quickly I tend to move on.
 
People who are busy or have short attention spans, will skip through longer videos or move onto another one, especially if the video isn't full of crashes or kittens. If you keep your videos short, you increase the chance of people sticking all the way through. Experiment with a couple of videos which are no longer than 2 minutes and compare the stats with your longer videos.

Great idea, ill add cats lol. No, but really, I may just try making some shorter clips.
 
It's funny I don't have that many videos posted but the one that most people watched was one that I spliced all the mistakes and me being stupid. Stuff that I would have left on the cutting room floor. I really just put it together for me, had no intention of posting it. Said screwed it. Weird how that works.

If you have monetised your YouTube videos via AdSense then you have a duty to closely monitor your analytics and report any inconsistencies.

This is in your AdSense contract, and I learnt this the hard way.
 
Bit what's inconsistent and whats a genuine increase! OK, im just into a few cents to a dollar or so across my vids but where does inconsistent start? One had gained 4x more revenue than the others at one point...

Care to elaborate on " I learnt this the hard way."?
 
Google won't tell you as they say it would reveal too much about their algorithms to do so.

Also remember Google is the customer and you are the vendor in the AdSense relationship, so they have a right to ban your account and not give you any reason.

Also note that bans are permanent and a banned individual can never use AdSense and monetise your channel again, so be very careful when monetising your videos.
