A Good Way To Get More Views & Subs - Test Rides & Fullscreen Partnership

Hey all, just thought I'd share a little tip.

If you get the chance to take another bike out for a ride, be it a friends or a test ride from a bike shop. RECORD IT. Do some commentary, talk about the bike, compare it to what you know.

In short, I've done two test ride videos (Victory Hammer S & Triumph Speed Triple 1050) and both of them have had between 3-5X the usual amount of views I get per video and both times they'd be subscriber magnets, which for a newbie YTer like me, that's a big deal!

Also, this is just something that's helped me grow and analyze my channel in more depth. If you're not partnered with a youtube network, consider Fullscreen.net - They have some amazing tools and since I've joined them, my channel has actually started earning me a bit of money. The only downside? Adverts in your videos (Monetization).
Otherwise they allow you complete unrestricted artistic creativity and you can leave them at any point :)

Regards

Aye - Before I deleted my old channel I had videos that had reviews for the NC700, NC750, CBR 600F and a few others. I got about 3k subs from them alone and most of the videos got 40k+ views

They do work. I found that my 'reviews' were talking about everyday use rather than the 'specs', you can find them anywhere!

Two of my videos were on the top of Google for nearly a year

Not allowed at my age, some insurance thing. When I called up Triumph they told me that If i had been in the army for 2 years it would have been a different story. WTF?

Yeah, the ideal thing would be to strike up a friendship with a dealer who will let you do bike reviews to boost his sales. The place I got the Speed Triple 1050 from was dead friendly.

The thing is. When you're sponsored you will find that people will not trust your opinions because they're not truthful
if I like a product I will promote it, I wouldn't sponsor a product that I didn't use or like. But if you get buddy buddy witha dealership to do a review, surly they will be expecting a positive one?

Good point. But chase on 2 wheel has that first ride series and he says from what dealership he is test the bike and i feel like he is giving hus honest opinion but you bring up a good point

There is a fine line I guess. You slag it off and then you get a pissed off dealer. You praise it even though people know is may be false, you lose trust and views.

I think that it's fine to 'slate' something as long as you back it up.

I think reviews should be like this -

  • The overview of whatever it is
  • How it would suit and change your personal life
  • The good stuff
  • The not so good stuff
I think as long as you back up the bad stuff with the facts then you're golden.

I could rant about the bad stuff no problem. But because I don't have an extensive knowledge on bikes, I don't know if I could back them up. :(

I believe the phrase is "being objective". And it's all relative too. A superbike rider slagging off a 1300 tourer isnt going to carry any weight, but I'd be interested if he offered his honest opinion of why it wasn't for him, that linda thing.

I'm not any kind of biker, Iprefer adventure bikes, but I like classics like Bonnevilles. I wouldn't be any good at reviewing superbikes or motocross etc but id like to give each of them ago. As for reviewing. I don't feel wise enough to cast a solid opinion that would be respectable
.

I think you need to review stuff that's applicable to your lifestyle. I ride a tourer, so I'd happily review the GTR, ST1300, K16GT etc etc, and I'd go as far as things like the NC700/750 or the VFR and Blackbird with a view to how they would suit being used for distance and luggage etc, but what could I bring to the party about utilising the power of a Fireblade? Not a lot really. But if anyone is desperate for me to try one, sure, why not! *hint* :)

well different perspectives is the key to reviews. It would be good to see someone who doesn't have that kind of experience try it out. Hint* :P
