Nice ride! I considered getting one of those, has enough power to keep up with most 600s and is a lot more comfortable. Needs something like a belly pan to hide the ugly cat/pipes tho. The new 650 is a joke, I don't know why they keep replacing those great bikes with nerfed versions, FZ6 to XJ6, 600f to 650f etc..

because the law changed and no one would buy them...

They sell those bikes all over the world you know, most other countries don't have such limitations/laws and they sure would buy them. Its easier to restrict a bike, take it down to 78hp from the original 98.

I think Japan and UK have similar laws though?

I got my bike because I wanted a proper CBR, not a wishy washy 650cc with 80something HP

That's where you wrong, the reason for it all was EU(much more then one country) introduced a new law (the A2 licence) and that created a new market for 45bhp(i think)/35kw bikes

I get what you are saying, its easy to restrict a bike (mine is) but if a company can sell you a unrestricted bike design to make the most out of your licence and then another one once you have a full licence... why wouldn't they?
