My only issue is it restricts bitrate and resolution, but that is at a level still acceptable for good video quality, but it needs to up it when more folk want to upload true 4k vids with high bitrates
What do you mean? Just hit settings when exporting and select from the drop down? It shows me up to 150,000 mb/s. Are you not satisfied?! lol

Aye, 150 is fine at the moment, but it soon won't be... my GoPro Hero 10 records 2.7k at 100Mbps

Once the 360 cameras can match the image quality of the current GoPro type cameras, they will be recording at over 200Mbps which would be an equivalent resolution of 1080 still once windowed... not too much of an issue I know as you can't edit 360 vids on Filmora, but you can bet when the 360 cameras are doing that, that the fixed lens cameras will also be using more bitrate to try stay ahead of the 360 cameras for quality.

So if it's a future problem, not a present, what's present Hippo worried about? lol

Besides, *I think* YouTube doesn't play over 85 mb/s bit rate at present anyway right?

It isn't really an issue at all currently, but I do hope it is something they add if it becomes one rather than making us buy a newer version.
TBH, I don't know what YT max bitrate is, last time I searched it, the recommended bitrates for 4k was lower than the GoPro I had recorded 1080, but that is possibly all pre VP9

It's strange that you didn't add to the list www.movavi.com/. This is also a very high-quality recorder that has been on the market for 20 years and has a huge functionality that allows you to create videos of any complexity

That looks a similar one to Filmora Wondershare, simple to use but with some good features.

I use that Powerdirector 365. My yearly subscription ran out and it had gone up from £44-99 to £59-99. I cancelled it and downloaded Davinci Resolve as it's free. I find that so intimidating after PD 365, the look of it, the layout, just about everything.
Low and behold, the next day I get an email from PD365 offering it for £44-99 again.
I've renewed it again at that price, I know where I am with that. I don't go over the top with effects etc, there's loads more it can do than I'm comfortable with or able to do.
Better the devil you know.

Anyone use the capcut desktop software?

I've been using it for shorts, tiktok videos etc as it has quite a few built in transitions, filters , text styles etc etc that are suited to the shorts style of videos, haven't tried it on longer content though.

Can't say I've ever heard of it to be honest. Will take a look, thank you

I think its owned developed by the same people as TikTok, They also have an app for your phone which is actually quite good for doing short videos straight on your phone, I've been playing with the desktop version for a little while now, I don't think it'll ever replace my main editing software (premiere pro) for long form content but it is good for short content editing.
